The Untimely Ghost
(A Comedy in Two Acts)

The Untimely Ghost is a delightful comedy about romance, busy-bodies, ghosts and the triumph of love.

Amanda Specter has decided, after a year of self imposed solitude, that it is time to get on with her life, and she accepts a date with a widower, Francis "Sparky" (no, he is not the Fire Department dog) Sparks.  Her parade is rained on first, by a call from her mother, then a series of visits from her nosey next door neighbor, Dana.  Then, to further complicate matters, Justin, her deceased husband, makes an untimely appearance from the hereafter.  There is a tender scene in which Amanda and Justin perform an original song, " The Last Time I Saw Heaven", and then all hell breaks loose as Justin realizes that Amanda has a date.  Justin does everything he can, utilizing his somewhat limited, unearthly powers, to foil the date.  He enjoys some success, but, one of his more amazing feats backfires on him to end Act I.

Act II opens with Justin, alone, on stage worrying about Amanda and her date.  Then, the busybody Dana gets her due when she visits one time too many and has a haunting experience at the hands of the ever playful Justin.  Finally Amanda and Sparky return (why couldn't he have gotten lost while chasing a car) and Justin begins, once more, to torment them.  His efforts are short circuited, when another ghost, the lovely and former Mrs. Jessica Sparks materializes before his eyes, well actually behind his back.

Jessica, being somewhat more of a realist (as ghosts go), takes Justin in tow and convinces him that Amanda and Sparky deserve to be happy and that there is nothing that a couple of poltergeists can do to contribute to that end.  The show ends with a touching scene in which Justin and Jessica say their good-byes, to their former spouses, and disappear together
